Through the Narrow Gate

I've decided to rename my blog from "James' Blog" to "Through the Narrow Gate." One: the former name is boring. Two: It just felt self-centered to name a blog after me. Who am I? No one special. I write my thoughts, which I've come to believe no one reads. But that's not why I write. The Christian life is like a car driving along a narrow road, and this is my exhaust pipe.

Read if you like. Comment if you like. Know that I'm not the end of the discussion. I'm simply beginning it.

Now if life is a journey along a narrow road, then the gate at the end is narrow. Jesus tells us in Matthew 7:13-14 "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. "For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Many have chosen the wide road. Many will end at the wide gate. Many will even scream at me saying, "everyone has their own path to God." I'm sorry to break the news to you, there are only 2 paths; one road is hard and the gate is narrow; the other isn't much easier but at least you can live for yourself. There is no purpose to the second path other than to live and to die. So, in the words of Joshua 15 "If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve...but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."

As for me, I have chosen the narrow road that leads to the narrow gate. It's going to get bumpy, rocky and muddy, so I hope you have 4WD and a whole lot of faith. But anything worth doing is worth getting dirty. So let's get moving.
